Getting on the Water at Topock

The Colorado River at Topock is the reason a lot of people turn off Interstate 40 in the first place. You can see it from the restaurant deck, and from the docks it looks even better. If you came to get on the water, here's how the marina side of Topock66 works, and where a separate rental company fits in.

The marina, launch ramp and docks

Topock66 includes a marina with a launch ramp, docks and fuel on the property, at 14999 Historic Route 66 in Topock, Arizona. If you're towing your own boat, that's the setup you want: a place to put in, docks to tie up, and fuel on site so you don't have to chase it down the highway.

From the restaurant deck you can look out over the floating docks and a steel railroad bridge, with desert hills behind. Boats tie up under a red TOPOCK 66 sign. It's a working marina scene, and you can watch it with a drink in your hand if you're not heading out yourself.

For questions about ramp use, dock space and fuel availability, call Topock66 directly at (928) 768-2325. We're not going to quote fees or hours for those services here, because the best answer is whatever they tell you today.

Renting a boat or jet ski at the ramp

If you don't own a boat, a separate company called Topock Rentals operates boat and jet ski rentals at the launch ramp. They are a different business from Topock66. Their website is topockrentals.com, their phone is (702) 927-1782, and their listed hours are 9am to 5pm. Their site says they've been serving the River Cities for nearly 20 years.

Everything below is what Topock Rentals publishes on its own site, shown as from prices. Rates can change, so confirm with them before you plan around any number.

Boats and what they cost

A 20-foot party barge pontoon starts from 525 and carries 10 passengers. A Yamaha AR195 runabout, which they list for wakeboarding too, also starts from 525. A Chaparral 232 deck boat starts from 699 and carries 12. Fuel is not included, with the exception of the one-hour special described below.

Boat rentals require renters to be 25 or older. If you want a captain to drive, Topock Rentals offers captain-chartered rentals, but pricing for those is by phone. Call and ask.

Jet skis and time-based rates

For personal watercraft, the VX110 starts from 295 for 8 hours. A Premium PWC starts from 375, and a Yamaha VX Premium with a sound system starts from 400. There's also a one-hour special at 99, and that one includes fuel.

The same list shows a 2-hour rate of 165, a 4-hour rate of 250, and a full day from 350. Again, fuel is not included except on the one-hour special. Ask how fuel is handled when you reserve so the end of the day doesn't surprise you.

Before you go out

A few basics apply on any river. Check that life jackets fit everyone in your group, including the kids. If you're towing your own boat, make sure your registration and safety gear are in order. Bring more water than seems reasonable and put on sunscreen before you leave the dock, not after.

Plan the day so the engine hours and the meal hours line up. Breakfast at the restaurant is served from open until 11am, with the restaurant opening at 8am Monday to Friday and 7am on weekends. Lunch starts at 11am, and dinner starts at 4pm. Coming off the water to a table on the deck is a good way to end the afternoon.

If you want a place to stay afterward, the hotel is on the same property. Call (928) 768-2166 or visit hotel.topock66.com. One Google reviewer, Beth Lomnitzer, wrote after a camping trip nearby, "We're camping nearby and really needed a great meal. This was the perfect choice."

Fall at the river

If your trip lands in the fall, Topock66 lists the Cruisin' The 66 Fall Car Show for November 8, 2026. It's an annual event on the property, and it pairs naturally with a day on the river. Check topock66.com for the details.

Whatever brings you to Topock, the river is the draw. Topock66 holds a 4.5 rating from 2,936 Google reviews, and the marina is one of the reasons the place has the following it does.
